Spam mail messages are becoming more common by the day and MS Outlook lacks the comprehensive filtering options required to effectively deal with the problem. Enter SpamAware, a great freeware plug-in for Outlook that allows for the detailed scanning and filtering of incoming messages based on the user defined settings from the options menu. The tool supports black and white list filtering and allows you to discard spam messages with ease. No spam filter will ever be perfect, and SpamAware is no different, allowing a few suspect messages through undetected from time to time. For the most part however, performance is solid and it does a very good job in detecting spam and dealing with it appropriately. SpamAware kicks in as soon as a new message is received, meaning users arent required to do anything after installation apart from tweak the settings for better filtering performance occasionally. While not revolutionary or particularly remarkable, SpamAware is still a good spam filtering application recommended for all Outlook users.
